Anderson Estate evolved over a number of years from the original 2.6 acre lot to now almost 9 acres. This was brought about by acquisitions of adjoining properties. This process is ongoing and the plan is to expand to about 12 acres.

The original property was brought because of privacy that the wooded acreage brought also unobstructed views of the Smoky Mountains. The architecturally designed home on the property was built around 1963 and still had good bones but was very dated to this era.

We moved into the home in 2007 on the same weekend as Sandra’s birthday and our 34th wedding anniversary. We use the rest of the year to settle in and plan for a major remodel the following year. The following two years saw major renovations which brought the home into the 21st century. Fred’s shed was also added during this time along with an expanded driveway.

2008 also saw the start of developing the landscaping. After going through four landscapers, we finally completed the stages around the home in 2012. In 2009 we had a Bobcat contractor come in and create trails all around the property to give us access to all of the woods.

In 2014 saw an uptick in activity around the property due to the semi-retirement of Fred Anderson. This allowed Fred to follow his passion of gardening and to fulfill his vision of creating a private Botanical Gardens so other people could visit and appreciate the vista.
